Thursday, December 19, 2013 Today marked the 29th anniversary of the tragic death of John T. Williams of Rescue 1. John or “Big John” as many knew him, was operating on a fire at 806 14th St NW and fell through the roof claiming his life. In honor of John the quarters of Rescue 1 at the time was Engine 6 and Truck 4 was named in his honor. Today his family stopped by to lay a wreath and spend some time with the members of Rescue 1, Engine 6 and Truck 4. May John RIP and we will never forget his ultimate sacrifice.
